Space Cowboys explode for eight runs in the first inning to cruise to 10th straight victory
Sugar Land scored the most runs in an inning all season with an eight spot in the bottom of the first inning against the Reno Aces. The Space Cowboys won the game 9-3 and collected their 10th straight win. To start the first inning rally, catcher Collin Price and second baseman Luis Guillorme both drew back-to-back walks with the bases loaded to take a 2-0 lead.
First baseman Luis Castro broke things open with a no doubt grand slam to left-center to extend the lead to six runs. Later in the inning, center fielder Kenedy Corona got in on the action and blasted a two-run shot to center field to put Sugar Land in front 8-0.
The Aces managed to scrape together two runs in the second inning on a double by right fielder Cristian Pache and a sacrifice fly by the designated hitter Jesus Valdez. Both squads managed to add one more run to their total but neither scored after the fourth inning to end at the score 9-3.
Starting pitcher AJ Blubaugh earned the win tossing six innings allowing three earned runs on six hits and struck out three.With the victory, the Space Cowboys have won 10 straight and are now 26-18 on the season.
