BBVA Stadium to host Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Group Games

HOUSTON (Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019) – BBVA Stadium was selected to host the U.S. Women’s National Team as part of Group A in the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the confederation announced earlier today.  

Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash Season Ticket Members will have access to an exclusive presale opportunity in the near future. Additional information on tickets and kickoff times will be announced at a later date. 

The tournament will send two nations to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan. Houston will be one of three cities in the U.S. to host the tournament, which will be held from January 28 through February 9 featuring eight nations divided into two groups.

The USWNT will join Costa Rica, Panama and Haiti in Group A. Group A will have doubleheaders at BBVA Stadium on Jan. 28, Jan. 31 and Feb. 3. H-E-B Park in Edinburg, Texas will host Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and St. Kitts & Nevis in Group B play. The semifinal and final will take place in Southern California.

After round-robin play within the groups, the top four finishers will meet in the semifinals, with the winners of those matches qualifying for the Olympics and for the tournament championship game. The semifinals will be held on Friday, Feb. 7 and the championship game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 9. 

BBVA Stadium hosted the final of the 2016 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Tournament along with matches from the knockout rounds.
