Down to the Wire: Breaking Heat

From the get go it was none stop pressure from the Dash. They pressed forward early and ou often in the first half. The Pride finally buckled to the heat in the 18th minute with the score by Maria Sanchez off of a lovely assist to put the Dash up. No assist would be prettier than the one Schmidt to Latsko for the second score though.

At that point the Dash were poised to run away with this one. It's fitting the team called the Pride decided to show some. Fresh out the half Jonsdottir scored on a corner kick to cut the lead in half. Like the Dash controlled the first half the Pride controlled the beginning of the second half. 

The pressure didn't persist though. Eventually the heat provided by the Dash would fold the Pride. Latsko is on the NWSL ass this year. Her full repute was on display tonight under the city lights. The Dash needed every bit of it. This hot box match ended up being a nail biter with the Dash taking the WIN, 2-1, defeating the Orlando Pride.
