The Sugar Land Space Cowboys (7-4) exploded for 17 hits and overcame a late Isotopes rally to defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes (2-9) 13-10 on Wednesday night. This win comes after a wild 14-walk game on Tuesday.

Sugar Land wasted no time getting on the board. In the top of the first inning, they loaded the bases for Pedro León who blasted a bases-clearing single. A throwing error allowed León to reach third, and he later scored on a Will Wagner single to give the Space Cowboys a commanding 4-0 lead. This marked the third straight game Sugar Land scored in the first inning.

The Space Cowboys continued to pile on runs throughout the game. RBIs from León, Jacob Amaya, César Salazar, and Shay Whitcomb extended their lead to 10-0 by the middle of the fifth inning. The bottom half of the lineup, including León, Wagner, Whitcomb, Amaya, and Salazar, were offensive stars, driving in a combined 11 runs.

Misael Tamarez, the starting pitcher for Sugar Land, had a strong start, allowing only one hit through the first four innings. However, he ran into trouble in the fifth, surrendering three runs before being relieved by Shawn Dubin. Dubin, making his second rehab appearance for the Space Cowboys, pitched a scoreless inning and earned the win.

The Space Cowboys added some insurance runs in the seventh inning on an RBI double by Amaya and a two-run homer by Jesús Bastidas. These runs proved crucial as the Isotopes mounted a comeback attempt in the later innings.

Forrest Whitley allowed three runs on two home runs in relief, but Sugar Land still held a comfortable lead. In the ninth inning, things got interesting. The Isotopes rallied for three runs on two doubles, putting pressure on Sugar Land closer Dylan Coleman. However, Coleman showed grit, striking out the final two batters to secure the victory for the Space Cowboys.
