Break Glass Time

For all the progress the Houston Rockets have made to save their season after the miserable start, its turned into treading water. The latest detour on the road to greatness for this team has been yet another injury to one of the pillars. Clint Capela who is essential to this team long term success will be out another 3 weeks minimum.

Eric Gordon has returned, but we have all seen him grimacing in pain at the end the games on the sideline. Not to mention there has been no meaningful change in the status of Danuel House negotiations. It's been bullet after bullet taken vs bullet after bullet dodged as it was last year. Is it time? Time to blow it up in a move for an additional big name to go alongside Harden, Capela, and Chris Paul. I say no. You have to give this team another shot with the focal points as currently constructed. Let's remember they were legitimately one game away from the finals last year. James Harden is no doubt playing at a higher level than anytime in his career.

This team has not had a chance to truly get to let alone hit there stride. There are some ironies currently happening. The Rockets lose 2 in a row after getting Paul back. Then blow out the Jazz on the second night of a back to back after the cry gate. The Rockets also managed to pick up Kenneth Faried who will be more than a serviceable backup once Capela returns. With his addition the above the rim play has the potential to span the full 48min.

Couple that with the possibility of DeAndre Jordan suiting up for the Rockets if bought out by the Knicks as expected. There is great potential in this team still. So my rednation riders hold on a little bit longer. Dont break the glass for emergency situations yet. Outsiders dont get this team so they are ready to break. Its harder for insiders not to break the glass in some instances because you see potential through the fog that has descended on this season.

But nobody knows better than a Houstonian how fall can turn to summer in a seco!
