LSC-University Park Volleyball Secures Gritty 3-2 Victory Over Alvin College
HOUSTON — The Lone Star College-University Park Women’s Club Volleyball team picked up a hard-fought five-set victory on Wednesday night, defeating Alvin Community College Club Volleyball 3-2 in a competitive midweek match on Oct. 7.
The Lions showcased clean execution and dynamic net play throughout the evening, staying resilient through high-pressure rallies to pull away from Alvin in the deciding fifth set. LSC-University Park set the tone with aggressive serving and disciplined back-row defense, limiting Alvin's transition scoring opportunities across all five frames.
Key adjustments at the net proved to be the difference maker down the stretch, as the Lions' front line dialed up heavy pressure with timely blocks and crisp side-outs to clinch the match.
With the 3-2 win, LSC-University Park builds momentum heading into the mid-October stretch of their fall schedule. The Lions won't have to travel far for their next challenge, as they stay in town for an intra-system match against LSC-Houston North at Fallbrook Church in Houston.
