Eagles flying high to snatch up Watson

Prior to his legal troubles, Watson asked the Texans for a trade before facing 22 lawsuits claiming sexual misconduct.  Watson would be an ideal candidate for the Eagles if he is able to resolve these disputes. The Eagles might be in the driver's seat to make an exciting trade if Deshaun Watson's legal troubles are resolved.

It is no secret that Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and would serve as a step up from the four-man squad of Jalen Hurts, Joe Flacco, and Nick Mullens currently employed by the Eagles. It is important to consider the pros and cons of bringing in Watson.

No matter what the outcome, Watson's potential deal would have negative public relations effects. Watson might also face a suspension from the league. A Houston police investigation is underway into Watson's allegations even though no charges have been filed against him. In the past, commissioner Roger Goodell hasn't suspended players who are suing the league, but with so many incidents it may be an exception this time around.

When it comes to character concerns, Jeffrey Lurie has frequently given second chances to the organization. Vick signed with the Eagles following his dogfighting incarceration. While race-related controversy swirled around the team, Riley Cooper and DeSean Jackson were also backed.

A QB spot has been a focus of the Eagles in the past. Regardless of legal issues, the addition of a talent the caliber of Watson would be extremely appealing for the team.
