Houston to get XFL Team


Houston is one of 30 cities invited to submit proposals to become a franchise city in WWE chairman Vince McMahon's revived XFL football league and will propose playing games at BBVA Compass Stadium or the University of Houston's TDECU Stadium.
Janis Burke, CEO of the Harris County Houston Sports Authority, said that in addition to suggesting the UH and downtown stadiums as potential XFL sites, the sports authority is awaiting word on whether NRG Stadium's commitments to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo would allow it to be a potential site for the league.
McMahon earlier this year announced that the XFL, which played one season in 2001 as a joint venture owned by WWE and NBC, will return in January or February 2020 for a 10-week regular season followed by two playoff rounds.............. Full Story @ HoustonChron
