San Antonio, TX – The Houston Roughnecks marched into the Alamodome on April 27, 2025, and absolutely dominated the hometown San Antonio Brahmas, delivering a resounding 27-3 victory that left the Brahmas faithful stunned into silence! From the opening whistle, it was clear the Roughnecks came to play, and they never let up, silencing the Alamo City crowd with a performance for the ages!

The Roughnecks' defense was an absolute steel curtain, suffocating the Brahmas' offense and making life miserable for quarterback Kellen Mond. Sacks came early and often, with Tashawn Bower and Christopher Allen leading the charge, disrupting plays and forcing the Brahmas into punt after punt. The Roughnecks' defensive coordinator, Chris Wilson, crafted a masterful game plan that completely neutralized San Antonio's attack.

On the offensive side, the Roughnecks were a well-oiled machine. Quarterback Jalan McClendon was cool and collected, making smart throws and extending plays with his legs. Running back ZaQuandre White proved to be a force, punching in an early touchdown and consistently gashing the Brahmas' defense. The Roughnecks' ground game, combined with McClendon's efficient passing, kept the chains moving and the Brahmas' defense on their heels.

Justin Hall was McClendon's go-to target, hauling in nine receptions for crucial yardage. The Roughnecks' offense methodically built their lead, adding field goals from Chris Blewitt and a second-half rushing touchdown from Kirk Merritt to put the game firmly out of reach.

The Brahmas struggled mightily to find any rhythm. Penalties and turnovers plagued their efforts, including a costly interception in the end zone by Corn Elder of the Roughnecks. Even a late quarterback change couldn't spark any life into the San Antonio offense, which only managed a single field goal late in the third quarter.

The final nail in the coffin came in the fourth quarter when a Jarrett Guarantano pass was intercepted and returned for a Roughnecks touchdown, followed by a successful three-point conversion, pushing the score to a decisive 27-3.

This was a statement victory for the Houston Roughnecks, showcasing their potential and silencing any doubts after a mixed start to the season. They controlled the game from start to finish, dominating in all phases. The Roughnecks head back to Houston with a massive road win, while the Brahmas will be looking to regroup after a tough outing in front of their home fans. The UFL has been put on notice – the Roughnecks are here to compete!
