No. 22 UH (13-7, 6-5) swept UCF in its weekend opener Friday at Fertitta Center.

In the three-set match, UH had 48 kills and 35 digs. Abbie Jackson, a UH grad, had a career night.

UH won the first set 25-15 after a slow start. After a 7-7 tie, UH scored four straight points to break the stalemate. Jackson got her 200th career block during the set. The first set ended with a UH win. Jackson started the second set with back-to-back kills. This was Annie Cooke's 3,000th career assist. The Huskies were on the ropes after a 3-0 scoring run by UCF. It was Kellen Morin's 200th career block that sealed the set for UH. UH won 25-23 in the final set, which was the closest of the three.

A beautiful kill by UCF junior outside hitter Emily Wilson tied the third set at 5-5. The set stayed close until UH went on a 9-1 run to win 17-10. Before UCF's late 3-0 rally, Houston was close to taking the set, but UH held on to win the set and the game 25-19.
