Dynamo FC release 2021 Schedule

HOUSTON (Thursday, March 25, 2021) – Major League Soccer announced Houston Dynamo FC’s 34-game schedule for the 2021 season, fueled by 76®, today. This will be the Club’s 16th campaign in MLS and its second under head coach Tab Ramos.

Earlier this month, MLS announced that Houston would host the league’s opening game of the 2021 season on Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m. CDT against the San Jose Earthquakes for Welcome Back to BBVA Stadium Night. This will be the 10th season for the Dynamo at BBVA Stadium, which opened in 2012, and the ninth consecutive year that the Club will open its season at home.

The Club will open the 2021 MLS Regular Season with a limited capacity in BBVA Stadium to ensure safety for all fans, with the goal of expanding that capacity in a phased approach. For Phase I to start the year, the Club has assigned each Dynamo365 Season Ticket Member a temporary seat location in order to accommodate as many Members as possible within a socially-distanced setup. To learn more about becoming a Houston Dynamo 365 member, please visit HoustonDynamo365.com.

Individual match tickets for Phase 1 matches will go on-sale on a limited basis on April 2 through SeatGeek. Information regarding Phase 2 will be based on guidance provided by MLS and local officials as to capacity and protocols, and will be communicated at the appropriate time. BBVA Stadium’s updated fan safety protocols may be found at HoustonDynamoFC.com/safety.

Houston will face every team from the Western Conference at least twice in 2021 and will play eight clubs three times each; the Dynamo will also take on two teams from the Eastern Conference. The Dynamo will host FC Cincinnati on Saturday, July 3 and will close the regular season on the road in Canada against CF Montréal on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

The Frisco-based club will visit BBVA Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 18. Houston will welcome MLS newcomers Austin FC to BBVA Stadium for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 11. The Dynamo will visit Austin twice, road-tripping to the state capital on Wednesday, Aug. 4 and again on Sunday, Oct. 24.

In addition to FC Dallas, three other teams will visit BBVA Stadium twice in 2021, beginning with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, May 22 and Wednesday, Sep. 29. Diego Valeri, Sebastian Blanco and the Portland Timbers make their first trip to H-Town on Wednesday, June 23 and return to Texas on Friday, Sept. 3. The Colorado Rapids visit Houston on Saturday, Aug. 14 and return for the final regular season game at BBVA Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 31.

The Dynamo will host Mexican international Carlos Vela and LAFC on Saturday, May 1 in the first of six nationally televised games in 2021. Houston’s final nationally televised game is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 24 on the road against Austin FC on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

The Dynamo will have a Bye for Decision Day, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 7.
