AT&T will not renew Matt Bullard's contract

Former Houston Rockets player and longtime AT&T announcer Matt Bullard will not be returning to AT&T next season. According to Bullard, AT&T chose not to extend his contract, not him.

The Rockets broadcast team has a huge hole with the retirement of Bill Worrell. Craig Ackerman will return, but who will fill the void left by Bull and Bill is yet to be determined.

As one of the most memorable forwards for the Rockets, Bullard averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game during his nine seasons with the Rockets. The 6'10" forward was one of the first stretch fours in the league, as he shot 38.9 percent from deep.

In 2005-2006, he joined the Rockets broadcast team, where he has been calling games for the last 16 years.

On the Locked On Rockets Podcast, Matt left a parting message to the fans:

“I love you Rockets fans. You’ve been a huge part of my life.. 25 years. I hope to continue as a Houston Rocket in some form or fashion. We’ll see where it all ends up.”
