Texans sign Mathieu to $7mill Deal

Repost from TheAdvocate
Former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu, who signed with the Houston Texans after the Cardinals released him, did not speak with the Saints during free agency, even though one Saints star reached out on Twitter.
Mathieu signed a one-year, $7 million deal with Houston.
By the time Mathieu was released, New Orleans had already signed veteran Kurt Coleman at safety and Patrick Robinson to play the nickel, filling both of Mathieu's best fits.
Mathieu is in town this weekend to host the Tyrann Mathieu & Friends' Celebrity Kickball Game on Saturday and then host a camp for kids on Sunday as part of a charity weekend in his hometown.
"I think the only person I really talked to was Michael Thomas," Mathieu said. "I've got a great relationship with Sean Payton, I use their facility every year to host my camp. It just wasn't the right situation for us, but I think I'm close enough to home even the Saints fans can come see me play in Houston."
